	<title>NP Solid Vodka Dosing Pellets,1000 ml</title>
	<description>BioPellets Solid Vodka Dosing Pellets - 1000 ml
NP BioPellets are a unique carbon based polymer that work as both a substrate and food source for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Also known as the Solid Vodka Method.

How It Works:
NP BioPellets are composed of biologically degradable carbon-based polymers that act as food source for bacteria and as these bacteria grow and multiply they consume waste products from the water, mainly nitrate and phosphate. During this process anaerobic layers will also develop resulting in additional de-nitrification. This process is called immobilization. The surplus of bacteria produced in this process are then consumed by filter and suspension feeding organisms such as sponges and corals or skimmed off by a protein skimmer.

Benefits:
1. Reduces Nitrate and Phosphate Levels and Permits Heavy Feeding: The bacteria growing on the NP BioPellets consume both nitrate and phosphate and when used in conjunction with a phosphate reactor and strong protein skimmer heavy bio-loads and heavy feeding are possible without negatively affecting water quality.
2. Simpler Solution than the Vodka or Sugar Method: Unlike liquid carbon sources such as Vodka or sugar, NP BioPellets concentrate the bacteria in a filter compartment or reactor, instead of all over in the aquarium where the bacteria may clog up pipes and/or hoses. Daily dosing is also not required.
3. Helps Prevent Cyanobacteria: The bacteria growing on the NP BioPellets competes with nuisance microbes, such as cyanobacteria, thereby limiting there growth and proliferation.

Usage Guidelines:
- NP BioPellets should be placed in a fluidized reactor, like the PhosBan Reactor, or a canister filter and this reactor or filter should be placed in the sump before the protein skimmer to limit the amount of bacteria entering the system. A fluidized reactor typically produces better results and prevents detritus buildup.
- NP BioPellets should never be used without sufficient aeration as this may lead to low oxygen and pH levels especially during nighttime hours. Aeration can be increased with the addition of an air pump and/or a more efficient protein skimmer.
- NP BioPellets should be used with a phosphate adsorbent media based on iron hydroxide like PhosBan or RowaPhos when heavy feeding is required. This is because most foods contain higher levels of phosphate than what is consumed by bacteria, fish and invertebrates in comparison to nitrogen.
- Sufficient water flow through the NP BioPellets is required to prevent production of hydrogen sulfide gas.
- The use of ozone and UV will negatively affect bacterial levels on the NP BioPellets and increase the length of time before nitrate and phosphate begin to drop.

Dosage Guidelines: 500-1000 mL of pellets for every 100 gallons of water. Heavier dosage may be required for heavily stocked tanks and/or heavily feed tanks. Dosage may be increased indefinitely provided the aquarium water is sufficiently aerated and filtered/skimmed. (A large, efficient protein skimmer is highly recommended.) It typically takes 2-4 weeks for nitrate and phosphate levels to start decreasing. If nitrate and phosphate are already very low prior to adding the NP BioPellets a decrease in these levels may not be detectable with standard aquarium test kits.

Replacement Guidelines: NP BioPellets typically need to be replenished every 3-6 months to replace the NP BioPellets that have been consumed by the bacteria. Regular measurements of both nitrate and phosphate levels are recommended to determine if the amount of NP BioPellets should be increased or decreased.

Disclaimer: With any organic carbon source, like NP BioPellets, there are risks and the use of these pellets is only advised for advanced aquarists. ReefGeek, Inc., NPBioPellets.com, coral publications and other reef interests will not be held responsible for any loss of livestock or damages to personal property which results from the misuse of NP BioPellets.

Results: The following list includes animals which have thrived in aquariums using NP BioPellets. Please note that although NP BioPellets may also serve as a bacterial food source, feeding with various types of plankton or artificial alternatives is required to keep these animals alive for prolonged periods of time.

- Fish: Pipefish and dragonets (Synchiropus and Corythoichthys schultzi), Anthias and all major Teleost species.
- Bivalves: Flame Scallops (Lima scabra) and Tridacna.
- Tunicates: Colonial sea squirts (Neptheis fascicularis), solitary species Zooxanthellate Scleractinian corals (Goniopora and Alveopora) and all major Scleractinian species.
- Azooxanthellate Scleractinian corals: Rhizotrochus typus and Tubastrea coccinea.
- Zooxanthellate Octocorals: All major Octocoral species.
- Azooxanthellate Octocorals: Menella, Swiftia exserta and Dendronephthya.
- Echinoderms: Comatula, Comanthina and Linckia laevigata.
- Sponges: Trikentrion flabelliforme and cryptic species as well as medium-sized macro sponges.

	<title>Deniballs 25 L box</title>
	<description>Deniballs 25 l box, filter material and bacteria feed
A filter material and bacterium food for the Nitratereductor

Deniballs are made from a special biologically based plastic material and are designed to provide a long-term carbon and food source for anaerobic bacteria within our Nitratereductors. In the absence of oxygen, these anaerobic bacteria metabolize the Deniball material to accelerate the reduction of nitrates into nitrogen gas.

 One box of Deniballs (0.2 gallons) for the Nitratereductor 400 and 3 boxes for the Nitratereductor 1000 is enough to be the sole source of supplemental food within the reductor for 12 months. For the Nitratereductor 5000 you will require about 1.2 gallons, about 6 boxes or one bucket, every year. Changing the Deniballs every 12 months is recommended to ensure safe and maintenance free denitrification for your fresh or saltwater aquarium.

	<title>Chaetomorpha Macroalgae, Spaghetti. Small</title>
	<description>A popular choice for refugium macroalgae among advanced aquarists in the United States is Chaetomorpha. Unlike Caulerpa, Chaetomorpha is multicellular and, as such, is inherently more stable. It can be cut and pruned aggressively with little or no fear of toxins being released or having vegetative crashes. And, like its namesake, it can also simply be thinned gently with ease like strands of spaghetti noodles. It is fast growing and makes an excellent vehicle for nutrient export! It is also highly adaptable to a very wide range of lighting [Tip: illuminate most macroalgae in refugia with at least 1 watt of light per liter of water at depths less than 30 cm]. Like most "vegetable-filter" algae species, moderate to strong water flow is necessary; keep a total water flow of at least 20X turnover of the volume of the culturing vessel. There are many other benefits to spaghetti algae, not the least of which is that it is a superb matrix for the cultivation of microcrustaceans. Aquarists with thick masses of Chaetomorpha in their refugiums get a bounty of zooplankton to feed their corals in their display, assuming the refugiums is kept without predators like fishes on the plankton. This genus is also a rather hardy shipper; trading among aquarists is strongly encouraged to distribute this useful organism in the hobby.
Nutrient Transport and Nitrate Removal are two key factors in a successful reef system. Here is some useful info I came across at reefland:
"Spaghetti algae" is one of the very best macroalgae for nutrient export in "vegetable filter" style refugiums. Chaetomorpha Macro Algae, Chaeto, pronounced "kay-toe", is a great way to naturally turn the nitrogenous compounds of your tank into plant food!!! The waste by-products of life, along with the light you provide for photosynthesis, will help this chaeto double in size on a regular basis. The always popular chaeto, works great, and wont go asexual! Chaetomorpha Algae, also known as Spaghetti Algae or Green Hair Algae, is an excellent macro algae for refugiums. Each cell grows end to end, creating long, stiff strands. It grows in filamentous clumps, resembling a ball of fishing line. You can "prune" it and throw it away--or you can compact it for even greater nutrient absorption. If you have a refugium, just throw this clump in there---it's like a Brillo pad--it stays together fairly well. You can also put it into a mesh bag for use in your main tank. There are many different ways you can contain the chaeto in your main tank all the while providing great hiding spots for the tiny "critters" in your tank. This algae is fast growing and is not palatable to many herbivorous species.
Chaetomorpha Algae removes both phosphates and nitrates from the water. To increase the amount of nutrients this algae exports, use moderate to high lighting and keep it in an area of high water flow. It should ideally be tumbled in an algae filter. This algae is sold by the bag and will arrive in a dense mat.
Spaghetti algae, though not palatable to many herbivorous species, is popular in reef aquariums for its ability to remove nitrates, assist in buffering pH, uptake carbon dioxide producing oxygen, and assist in balancing trace elements. It also provides hiding spaces for small creatures. To increase the amount of nutrients this algae exports, keep in an area of high water flow ideally tumbled in an algae filter.

 This volume will fill a 1/2 Pint Ziploc Bag.

Ships Great Even in the Cold!: Customer feed back:...

..."just wanted to say thanks again for the great chaeto! When I bought mine I was expecting a lil' sandwich bag not the Ziploc bag stuffed full that came! I've noticed an explosion of pods in my fuge since adding it as well, so my fish thank you too! for the amount you sell has got to be the best deal going!"
                                                        --South Dakota

"Props for this chaeto I have bought it twice before i live in AK
also bought it in winter one time it nearly froze and it still came back with a boom"

    I was tumbling my small piece I got off eBay for more $ than I paid Greg (Eddie) and yes it did look cool. However with the package I got from Greg I can no longer get it to roll over no matter how much air I pumped in so I stopped. I just roll it over every day or two when I change my filter media sense it is just lifting the filter tray and reaching in.... I have mine on a 15 hour cycle and my nitrates went from 40 to zero in less than 2 weeks. I did not even do a water change in that period. Get some! I would buy more but I don't need it, mine is growing well.

	<title>Chaetomorpha Macroalgae, Spaghetti. Med</title>

 This volume will fill a Pint Ziploc Freexer Bag.

 Also, it is often overlooked that the chaeto also acts like a filter floss of sorts, and will trap small particles of detritus and unprocessed foods and such. Because of this, it is a good practice to rinse your chaetomorpha macro algae from time to time. At least rinse it well with each water change; Pull out 5 gallons of water that is to be replaced in a water change, and save it in a 5 gallon bucket or similar container. Before you dump the old saltwater, use it to rinse out the chaeto first. You will be amazed at how ugly that bucket of water will get.

When you are done rinsing your chaeto, and have put it back in the refugium, decant the 5 gallon bucket for a few minutes before slowly pouring it out, and stop when there is about 2-3 of water left and look for brittle stars, hard stars and critters to be rescued before dumping out the last of the old dirty saltwater.

 I hope this will help for folks who are having any troubles keeping their Chaeto thriving and productive.

	<title>Antiphos FE 5000 ml</title>
	<description>Antiphos FE is an ideal media for selectively extracting phosphate from aquarium water, helping to reduce and prevent nuisance algal growth. Antiphos FE is a highly active iron based product containing no aluminum and is completely non-toxic to aquarium plants and animals. Phosphate is irreversibly bound to the media and is removed from the aquarium when the Antiphos FE is renewd. It is particularly effective in controlling phosphates in coral reef aquaria and can reduce phosphates to trave values for extended periods of time. The coarse particle size enables high flow rates through the media without resorting to a fluidized bed. The binding capacity of Antiphos FE is 10g phosphate/kg and 500ml can treat a normally populated 80 gallon aquarium for 3 to 6 months.

	<title>Small Reactor</title>
	<description>I recently put some of our Chaeto macro algae in a brand name media reactor, which is clear plastic, and set it in my refugium, so that it gets a lot of the T5 light there. This seems to be a great way to pass water through the macro algae, and more efficient than trying to tumble a little ball of it somewhere as a lot of people say is best.
 You can even hang one of these Chaeto Reactors off the side of a display tank if it gets enough light from some stray halide lighting or equivalent, and can act as a mini refugium, pod factory, nutrient removing and transporting algae filter.
The no getting around it macroalgae filter.

Requires a small input pump and tubing.

2-1/2 inch Diameter Hang On Phosphate Reactor. Hang-on the aquarium or sump. 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch barbed connections on inlet. Needs a width of 4 inches to hang on the side of an aquarium. Hangs 5 inches off back of aquarium or sump. 15 inches tall. Includes flare nozzle for return into tank.

Shipment Dimensions:

    * Weight: 1.45 lb
    * Height: 14 in
    * Width: 7 in
    * Depth: 5 in

	<title>Seachem CupriSorb 250ml (8.5 oz)</title>
	<description>Seachem CupriSorb 250ml (8.5oz)

Seachem CupriSorb is a narrow spectrum, synthetic adsorbent based filter material for removing copper and heavy metals from either freshwater or marine water. It extracts all types of copper, including chelated copper, and remains effective until it turns a deep blue-black color. It may be regenerated repeatedly. If placed in continuous service, it will gradually extract even precipitated copper and make invertebrate culture possible in tanks previously heavily treated with copper. CupriSorb is a powerful copper specific chelating resin.

Why It Is Different

Competing products are not chelating products, but merely cation exchange resins. Such resins can remove copper from freshwater but are ineffective in saltwater.

Directions

Use 500 mL for every 1,200 L (300 gallons*) to remove up to 15,000 mg (12 ppm) of copper. For best results, CupriSorb should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it.

To remove undetectable substrate leaching copper keep CupriSorb in use for at least 2 weeks after copper tests report no copper. Use in a canister filter, chemical filtration module, box filter, or any high flow area of a trickle filter. Exhaustion is indicated by a pronounced discoloration of the beads to a deep blue black color.

Use MultiTest Copper to monitor copper. When exhausted, CupriSorb may be discarded or regenerated.

REGENERATION: Soak in a non-metal container with 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of muriatic acid (available with pool supplies: PAY HEED TO WARNINGS on acid container!). This is best done outside and away from children. Soak for 1 hour, rinse well. Repeat as required to restore the original color. Rinse well, add sodium bicarbonate until foaming stops, and rinse again. CupriSorb is now ready for reuse. If original color cannot be restored after several acid washes, proceed with rinses and bicarbonate step, then regenerate as HyperSorb or Purigen.
